Please forgive the message, but it's kind of hard not to be awe-struck when confronted with an image as mesmerising as this.
I understand that our scientific language will describe this as solar wind consisting of photons that escaped the colossal gravitational mass of the sun.
They travel at the speed of light across millions of miles of space and by accident they are witnessed passing through the earths magnetic field over the north polar region. Photons - Light - Energy - Mass.
I'm afraid that words cannot describe the beauty of the colours and their distributions that you have captured with your photographic skills that nature has created here. If I could paint just one picture in my lifetime that was as good as this image then I would die a very happy man.
