I absolutely love these photos of the aurora! As a photography student, I would love to know what camera, lens, settings....anything really, that you used for make such beautiful photos. :)

For this I used the Nikon D800 with the 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. :)

I have a question, why is it that aurora is usually green/blue-ish colours? :$

Its mostly cause of the types of flare the sun puts out and how it hits the magnetic sphere, the usual altitude ( 100 km ) it is green, lower and higher produces more red tinted auroras, which is way more rare than green.
