Djupvik in northern norway is an amazing place to see the aurora borealis and for anyone concidering traveling to norway, I can certainly recommend this place.

Shot with nikon d800, 14mm, iso 1250, 3 seconds.

Here is a memorable Aurora scenery, one of many which seemingly never run out of originality and beauty. However, this one differs from most due to the moon present and therefore the distinctly lighted earth scenery underneath.

The image is skillfully done, with well balanced exposure and excellent contrast. The stars seem a bit oversharpened, probably in order to show better through the clouds and lights. The ISO used is high, however the quality is satisfactory, with little noise visible.
The picture is abundant in details and elements, both in sky and ground, although, naturally, the sky is the main focus. Because of this I would recommend that the part of the cadre taken by the ground scenery is slightly smaller. This however is my only remark regarding composition - the curve in the northern lights works perfectly to build the scene.
I would like to say a few words about the colors, which are also rich and have the major role in the cadre. They are way too vivid and variegated to instill the tranquil feeling of night, instead they create a scenery of magical splendour in the sky - an impression completed by the many glittering stars. The main hues - green and violet - are harmonic and combine very well. A final touch is the darker waters in the foreground with a pleasant reflection in green.

Finally, I ought to mention the title is very well picked. There is positively a dancing feeling in the curving lights - one could almost see how they flow through the sky. This is pure magic.

This is a very neat piece that should be memorable about this specific location. The vivid quality ensures the impact of that moment and it is hard for me to find artwork, even more so photography that touches me in a way.

This is a very vivid vision of the natural beauties of the world. It gives of the natural coloring of the Northern Lights. The special touch of the gentle reflection of the lights on the river give a calming and shimmering effect.

The originality is, a little lower, than the other scores due to this being a common photo most try to aim for, but you brought it to a more brilliant level. This is a nice piece and anyone who owns something like this should be proud.

This is beautiful - although I think I would crop more off the bottom, just not a whole lot going on there and a bit dark. Otherwise the mountains are lit up beautifully with the aurora borealis. The exposure on the top half is perfect and with minimal noise. Great work! You must be very warm blooded to sit out all night doing this! :)

Thank you very much. :)

I do agree with you, but it is already cropped a bit so I did not want to push it. :)

Not more warm blooded than the next, I just have really warm winter clothes. :D
