Finaly that break caught, the aurora has been really weak for over a month and just lately it has picked up, and super great that it was not as cloudy as yesterday.
Shot on a mountain called Kvænangsfjellet, near this summer open diner called Gildetun, and on a sidenote I have never seen so many stars so clearly as today.
Nikon d800, 14-24mm f/2.8, @ 14mm, 2.8, iso 1600, 8 seconds. Edit is at its bare minimum, lens correction, little contrast, lighten shadows and decreasehighlights, with light sharpening.
Oh you should absolutely do that, like for instance where I live there is a dedicated guiding company that takes people out to see the aurora, you can go dogsledding, go on snowmobile rides, icefishing and of course see the aurora, it may cost a couple of $ but you get to see this area at its finest. And this place is super small, there is a lot of other places you can get guided aurora tours or if you have a friend up here that is also a great way to get to the right places and see it. Cause at the end of the day, from my point of view there is nothing I know of that is more beautiful than the northern lights.
I agree! the lights are definetly gorgeous. Where I live, you can see them faintly, when they do decide to appear, which is rarely. Where exactly in Norway? The place im leaning towards is Tromsø, I've done my fair share of research on great places to see the aurora and that was one of the top.
The place I live is about 4 hour drive from tromsø, but tromsø is superb for seeing auroras so you cant go wrong there, and you got all the comforts a city can offer too.
