First of all this piece is absolutely beautiful. I think you did a wonderful job of capturing the green colors of the aurora. It has such a nice fluid wave movement that contrasts nicely with more sharp objects like the trees and hills. I think the composition of the photo is really nice and balanced and the viewers eye travels through it very easily. The contrast of the photo seems a little bit off. The trees and hill seem overly dark while the main part of the aurora is almost stark white. A little less contrast might be better. It also could be that it was hard to find the right settings to shoot this photo because the the trees and hills were so dark and aurora was lighter. I understand it might just be a setback where you couldn't find the right shutter speed for both elements. In which case I think you did a really good job of finding one that balanced out both elements. If you're not opposed to editing this in photoshop you could easily lighten up the shadows and darken the highlights a bit. These are all just suggestions. I think this photo is beautiful as it is and really if you don't want you don't need to do anything to it. It's a great unique scene that you captured, and definitely has a surreal look about it. Good job!
Your aurora photos are absolutely amazing! I would like to see those light effects one day, it looks magical. It must be very nice to see it by yourself.
