This photograph displays atmospheric, surreal landscape that seems fantastical and sci-fi; almost like it was derived from a movie or one's imagination. The lack of any obstruction gives the audience a clear view of a very beautiful world that people don't see on a daily basis.
The reflection in the water is almost responding, as if something stirred and was triggered by the sky's showcasing of light and color. I have never seen the Aurora Borealis with my own eye, but your photography of them makes me feel as if I was inside the picture and standing before the grand sky, viewing it myself with the naked eye, and it's captivating.
It's a wonderful feeling just to look at this, and from the angle, it captures the blends of colors, their depiction at its finest.
You have taken very wonderful photos.

Yeah, but that is an autumn thing, winters comes up pretty fast here and the small lakes around freezes over quite fast.  check this one out, a friend and I made it. pretty early on you can see some of what you are talking about, you might like it. :)
