First I have to say that before I started this project I really had no clue of how enormous it was going to be and how much time and effort it would take just to complete a 3 minute timelapse movie.
The total project took up 280 gb of storage before rendering and editing, needless to say it is a monster amount to process, Ive stayed out many nights until morning and often at mornings to capture what i find to be beautiful about the place I live in. In one of the clips the wind shifted the camera just a bit, but I just had to keep the clip cause the aurora behaved almost like disco lights would do, strange but beautiful.
Soj ( also the name of the movie ) which stands for Sørkjosen is a very small town in northern Norway, and my goal was to show what i love about this place, and even though it has been some miles of walking and cold nights I`ve loved every second of it, when you are tired and beat and the aurora makes its presence you are awake as never before.
So I hope you guys like my first attempt on making a timelapse movie.
This is so beautiful, it would be amazing to see in real life!! You are very lucky, fortunately you make these awesome photos and videos, so that we can also enjoy it. Thank you!
Amazing! I'm intrigued to see the dance between those lights and the sky, for the moment, it's the closest I'll come to such a site so thank you for letting me in on such a gorgeous site! Will you ever get tired of such a thing?
Thank you. Nah, I dont think I ever will tire of it. Some days I feel a bit tired for walking out when its cold and I have already been out 6 days in a row for many hours, but you just bite it and go cause you know the aurora will make it worth it.
Sure thing! For everyone's sake...don't I can only imagine I know the feeling (on a smaller scale) it's just again and again, but again you're right, it's almost always worth it!
Not to worry, I will not tire of it. Though there has been days where the aurora has been very active for a while and Ive thought "hmms, it would be nice with one calm day", but as they say be careful what you wish for, cause the last few days the activity has just plumeted.
... must visit northern Norway some day (did I already say this
Im not sure, perhaps you did.

Haha that's a shame! It'll get back up there, and when it does I expect to see you with camera in hand (figurative way of saying on the tripod
